1. Wetness or rusting around the bottom of the tank. This indicates a slow leak from the internal tank.
2. Green and white corrosion. Usually occurring on the inlet and outlet pipes, this can typically be repaired without consequence to your tank.
3. Dripping from the relief valve. The short fix is a relief valve replacement but our plumbers are trained to look for a root cause like a failed thermal expansion tank creating excess pressure.
4. Popping sounds. During the reheating process, an old gas water that is full of sediment may sound like popping popcorn. At this point, your best option is replacement as it would not likely be cost-effective to remove such a large quantity of build-up.
5. Your water heater is one of the most important appliances in your home. It heats the water that we use to shower, clean, and do laundry. If your water heater needs a professional evaluation, call the experts.
