COMMERCIAL WATER HEATERS

In a commercial application, your water heater is in near-constant demand, working much harder than you might think. Whether you have a small bakery with an on-demand tankless unit or a large chain hotel with a row of 100-gallon beasts in the basement, we are prepared to keep your business running. Our expert technicians can create new install estimates, make standard repairs, or perform a full replacement with an updated model.

We have access to commercial water heaters with over 400,000 BTUs and the experience to replace even the most complicated water heaters. Most of our commercial water heater models have high chromium stainless steel burners and multiple magnesium rods to ensure a long life for your new water heater.

COMMERCIAL WATER HEATER INSTALLATION

Commercial water heater installation is a must for any office building. Hot water is necessary for bathroom sinks, for an on-site gym with showers, and for a kitchenette or food prep area, especially if a dishwasher is installed. Based on your trade, it may also be necessary to have hot water as a part of production, to do laundry or sanitize dishes or medical equipment, or for a number of other uses.

You may need a commercial water heater installation if you’re building a new office space or to replace a broken water heater in your existing office. Water heaters generally last 10 to 15 years before they need to be replaced. If your water heater has reached this age and is experiencing malfunctions, it is likely not worth the repairs to have it fixed. This is especially true because new water heaters are built with more technological advancements, making them more efficient. It may be worth considering a new commercial water heater installation to improve the energy-efficiency of your office, even if your current water heater isn’t in need of repair or replacement. Either way, it’s important that you have the right team on the job, and we can do exactly what you need.

A licensed and experienced plumber can install the commercial water heater correctly and effectively, making sure your supporting plumbing system is as efficient as possible. A plumber should always work with you to determine the strengths and weaknesses of your existing commercial plumbing, the water heater you’ve chosen, and any potential future additions to the space.

TYPES OF WATER HEATERS

Here are some of the types of water heaters to consider:

  • Electric: If there’s a low demand for hot water, an electric water heater can be a good option. Electric heaters lose less energy-storing water than gas heaters, and they can be cheaper than gas–but only if the hot-water demand is low.
  • Gas: A faster method of heating water than electric, gas water heaters can be a big step up if you have a heavy demand for hot water.
  • Tankless: Also known as “instant”, these water heaters only provide hot water when it’s demanded. This can save a lot of energy (and money!) over the lifetime of the water heater. Tankless water heaters are becoming more and more popular.
  • Energy Efficient: This category covers a wide range of water heaters, including gas, electric, and tankless. “Energy Efficient” simply means the water heater uses less energy, but it is not specific to a type of energy.

Not all of these types will work within a commercial building, and the existing plumbing, wiring, and pipes really need to be considered carefully when choosing a new water heater. Building codes and regulations will also determine the size, type, and placement of a commercial water heater.

INSTALLATION PROCESS FOR COMMERCIAL WATER HEATERS

Water heater technology keeps on getting better and better, and there are more types of water heaters available than ever. The installation process for a commercial water heater really depends on a few factors:

  • The existing plumbing and wiring
  • The regulations in your location
  • The type of business within the building
  • The age of the building

A licensed plumber should always be consulted in a unique space, a space with energy restrictions, or an older commercial building. A plumber also needs to be consulted to make sure building regulations and codes are upheld before, during, and after commercial water heater installation.

WATER HEATER REPAIR

Don’t hire just anybody to install or repair your water heater. Trust the plumbing experts at Amanda Plumbing. We’ll help you decide on the perfect water heater for your commercial building, making sure everything is installed and functioning correctly. If your existing water heater or piping needs to be repaired, we can do that too! Call us today to discuss your commercial water heater installation or repair

Does your water heater need to be replaced, or just repaired? An expert plumber can help you decide on the best option, inspecting the existing water heater, wiring, pipes, and commercial space to evaluate the needs of your business. Sometimes repairing is a great idea, but sometimes repairing a water heater (instead of replacing it) can set your commercial building up for disaster.
