Gas Line Repair and Installation

Amanda Plumbing Employs several technicians certified to pressure test existing gas lines, repair leaking gas lines and install new gas lines with all necessary permits and inspections.

Professional Natural Gas Line Repair & Leak Detection

Due to the dangers of working with natural gas, we strongly advise that you do not try to perform any repairs yourself.

A gas smell in or around your home should never be ignored. Gas leaks are a very serious issue that should always be handled by calling the proper authorities as well as your gas service provider before attempting to schedule service. After your safety has been made a priority, Amanda Plumbing possesses the equipment and skill set to track down your leak and make the repair whether your gas is still on or shut down at the meter. If your gas has been turned off at the meter, we can safely pressurize your gas system with air to locate the leak and bring you back into working order.

Natural gas is tough to detect, as it’s a colorless, odorless substance. We use natural gas in our homes with gas heaters, stoves, and ovens. American homes access natural gas through miles and miles of underground pipelines. Having a natural gas leak from an outdoor pipeline and indoor appliances can happen quickly and unexpectedly.

Call a repair technician if you notice any of the following warning signs:

  1. Hissing sounds from the gas line.
  2. Dead or withering plants and vegetation near a gas line.
  3. Dirt is blowing up from the ground in one area.
  4. An unusual spike in your monthly utility bill.
  5. Low pressure from gas-burning appliances such as stoves.
  6. Rotten egg smell near the appliance

Common Causes of Gas Leaks

To reduce the need for gas line repair, it’s important to understand the common causes of gas leaks. Indoor gas leaks from heaters, stoves, ovens, and other gas-burning appliances occur most commonly in the winter. This is because homes are not adequately ventilated during the cooler months to prevent heat loss. If you haven’t done so already, we recommend installing carbon monoxide detectors outside of bedroom doors to alert you of any potential gas leaks.

While there are instances where gas leaks occur indoors, did you know that gas leaks most frequently occur outdoors from gas lines? This can happen when you’re in your yard digging in the garden. Before you do any deep digging in your yard, request a free map of your underground pipelines through the Underground Service Alert organization. Nearby construction can cause gas lines to shift and break. Natural settling of the earth beneath a house may also be a cause.

Gas Line Installation

We regularly run new natural gas/liquid propane lines to:

  • Gas range stoves
  • Gas water heaters
  • Tankless water heaters
  • Ventless heaters
  • Outdoor grills
  • Outdoor fire pits

Stove Conversions

The number of requests we receive to run a new gas line to a kitchen stove is increasing every day. Our gas technicians have become so comfortable with this process that we can typically give you an accurate estimate right over the phone. Just answer a few simple questions and we can have you set with a price and installation date in one phone call!

Outdoor firepit and grills

We also find ourselves running more gas lines outdoors to beautiful firepits and outdoor patio grills in the warmer months. The homes being built in this area are already so beautiful, why not add a gathering space the neighborhood will envy? Amanda plumbing is frequently contracted by patio companies as well as do it yourself homeowners to trench in gas lines to feed your fire pit, grill or fire feature in a seating area.
